Many of us dive into the, working with crystals as a way to create some form of positive change in our lives because we are ready to resolve lingering feelings of disconnect or dis ease.

One of the best supporting features of working with crystals is their ability to help us focus our attention on the intentions we have while also holding and maintaining an energetic vibration that supports the result. There is an intricate connection between crystal healing, our thoughts, emotions, and our ability to manifest. And since this is the 17th episode of the Crystal Self Healer podcast, I thought it would be fun to cover the intersection of crystal healing, our thoughts, emotions, and manifesting with the 17 second rule.

Simply put, the 17 second rule is a technique used in the law of attraction and is based on the principle that when you focus your attention, through your thoughts and emotions, on something positive for as little as 17 seconds you begin to attract that vibration within your life. This rule draws on a few key principles that are used within the practice of crystal healing too. The first being focused attention. This is when you concentrate your thoughts and emotions on your desired goal or end result. The second being activation of vibrations, which is very similar to entrainment.

This is where I think a lot of the magic happens when working with manifestation and crystals. Entrainment refers to the process where two oscillating systems synchronize their vibration when they are exposed to each other. Their similar natural frequencies allow them to align and resonate together.

The 17 second rule suggests that our focused thoughts and emotions can entrain with the energetic frequency of our desires, leading to a more potent manifestation effect.

Through our focused attention, we are essentially tying our mental and emotional frequencies to align with that desired goal or end result. And the longer we sustain the focused state, the more coherent our vibrational state will become with what we are focusing on and the more momentum we build that facilitates in manifesting the result.

While this technique emphasizes the power of focused, positive thinking, it’s good to remember that we learned in previous episodes that it isn’t solely limited to only work with positive thoughts. We can attract and manifest negative results if that’s what we’re focusing our attention to.

There’s a concept that I want to touch on that really helps to paint the picture we’re working with here. It’s the concept that thoughts become things. From the paperclip you used at work today, to the emotions and moods you experienced as you engaged with people, to that next fabulous vacation that is just a nudge in your awareness right now. All of these things are the result of thoughts. Quantum mechanics suggests that everything in the universe is made up of energy and vibrations. And that would include thoughts and emotions too. When you have a thought it triggers an electrical event in your neurons, in your brain that releases neuro chemicals into your body.

When you focus your thoughts on a desired outcome, you emit an energetic vibration that will resonate with similar frequencies in the quantum field. This resonance creates a magnetic pull that can draw the manifestation closer to you as you align more with that frequency.

We also have the concept of neuroplasticity that highlights the brain’s ability to reorganize itself allowing new neural pathways to develop as we learn new things or repair damage that occurs in our brains. In episode nine, we discussed the psychological concept of the Baader-Meinhof phenomenon, also known as frequency bias. This too supports the 17 second rule in that the more repeatedly you focus on a desired outcome, you strengthen the neural pathways associated with that goal enhancing your belief systems and motivation.

Emotional alignment further reinforces this process by syncing your thoughts and emotions with the desired manifestation, activating positive emotional states supporting the manifestation journey. All of these concepts give us clues into what is going on and why we’re able to manifest some pretty amazing things in our lives.

The law of attraction is about learning how to create and maintain a vibration that attracts what you desire to your reality. It posits that like attracts like, and your thoughts and emotions play a crucial role in shaping your experiences and defining the vibration in your energetic field.

Implementing the 17 second rule and endeavoring to maintain focused thought and emotional alignment with the desired end goal gives you a way to tap into the magnetism of the law of attraction.

Your thoughts, emotions and beliefs influence not only your mental reality but your physical reality as well. When you take steps to align your mental and emotional states with your desires, you create a cohesive vibratory rate that helps you bring your desired outcome closer, allowing your thoughts to become the things you are dreaming of. There’s momentum we can build here if you’re able to expand the amount of time you are practicing with your focused thoughts and emotions. The more you make the desired outcome your mental and emotional reality, the more likely it will become your physical reality. This is where the rituals you do with your crystals creates the opportunity for you to exercise the 17 second rule.

In crystal healing, entrainment occurs when your physical experience shifts to align with the set vibrational pattern of the crystals.

And when you align your thoughts and emotions to match with the vibrational pattern of the crystal, you are able to amplify the overall effect of what you’re doing.

And chances are the ritual you do will be longer than 17 seconds, so there’s a win. There are three steps you can take right now that will help you implement the 17 second rule. And these steps also make up the foundation for the work my clients do when they work with me. First is grounded awareness. This is the space of really becoming aware of what is going on in your life. The good, the bad, all of it. Understanding your triggers, the patterns they set off and how you normally react in these situations. Second is intention. This is where you identify the desired end goals. The into the thing that you want to create in your life. You’ll also want to note that it’s super important to have clarity of your intention.

And third is aligned action. This is where you practice the steps of creating the desired goal you established. To do the rituals, to do the healing, to find the sneaky and sticky thoughts that are getting in the way so you can close the gap between your current reality and the reality you’re wanting to create. It’s great for supporting clarity, focus and concentration, all of which are key in implementing the 17 second rule.

It’s not uncommon to have this feel weird or clunky at first, or to experience setbacks or frustration when you don’t see the change you are striving for. This is where the fun comes in. There are lots of ways that you can derail yourself and your progress, even when you’re working with the law of attraction and the 17 second rule.

No doubt you’ve tried some techniques or some rituals at some point to manifest something in your life and have been faced with a result that didn’t match up with what you were attempting to call into your reality.

No doubt that making a shift in how you regularly go about living your life can feel uncomfortable or even clunky when you first start making the effort. There are three themes I see that come up from my clients that get in the way of them making progress in their manifesting and implementation of the 17 second rule.

First it’s a lack of clarity. When you’re unclear in what it is you really want, you may find yourself running hot and cold with your intention, or you may set unrealistic expectations, or you might over-complicate how you go about taking action towards your goal.

Second is when you’re inconsistent. If you’re irregular in honing your skills, and these include the practice of raising your vibration, it can slow down or impede your progress. The pitfall here is that you may become impatient, start skipping steps, or find that you end up not trusting the process.

Third is a mismatched focus. This one is where most people need the most support, from themselves or from someone else. This is where your doubt or disbelief in you, your desired outcome, your worthiness all comes into play. Also, if you have a general negative view or lack of gratitude and appreciation, or an overall resistance to growth and change, or you’ve adopted feelings of discouragement from comparing yourself to others. These thoughts, actions and behaviors will slow down, if not completely stop your ability to call in your desired result. Because when you get down to the root of it, you are not a vibratory match, mentally or emotionally, for the thing you are trying to create.

Having tools that help you set yourself up to create your desired vibrational state, as well as identify where you’re missing the mark is super helpful. I have a morning ritual worksheet that I use in the morning to help me get a snapshot of what’s occupying my mind as well as to establish the way I’m wanting to feel, and the things I can do to help me feel that way. It is a great tool to use if you’re needing consistency, clarity and the action of naming how you’re wanting to feel while also empowering you to brainstorm the actions, thoughts, and behaviors you can take to keep you in that vibrational space, or in vibrational alignment. There is a lot of focus in some practices on trying to fix things that are broken or negatively impacted by other people. That isn’t always a great place to focus your attention because one: why would you want to dwell on things that you maybe can’t fix or that are unfixable? And two: if it’s at the mercy of someone else, you need to remember that you can’t force people to do things. No matter how hard you try. It always has to come from them, by their choice. To give an example, if you’re trying to manifest a healthy work environment for yourself, unless you own the company you can’t single-handedly change the culture of the current company you work for. But you can take steps to find a new job or report unsavory behavior to the proper people.

So this is why in the charmed morning ritual worksheet, you’re encouraged to find things that are within your control that will help you feel the way you desire to feel, instead of what or who needs to change in order for you to feel that way.
