What do you think of when you think of the beach?  Do you think about the sun and how it warms your skin?  The waves lapping at the shore?  Building sand castles?  Long walks along the beach, feeling the sand between your toes?  What would make a trip to the water just beachy for you?

I have fond memories of days spent at the beach as a kid with my parents and brother.  The homemade sandwiches, drinks and snacks all packed into the cooler.  I don’t remember ever eating a sandwich at the beach without the delicious crunch of sand.  And when leaving, being caked with sand, and my skin being hot to the touch and sore from being in the sun way too long.  Good times, good times.

While on vacation, Grandma had pulled out a jar of sharks teeth by the Things to look at.  They had been collected by my Mom and her sister while they were younger.  This started them reminiscing of all the sea glass they used to find on the beaches.

Any hoo.

While I was fondling beads at the Gem Faire, DH had taken the Things to the Oregon coast for some sight-seeing and fun time in Devils Elbow State Park.  As I mentioned before, one of the purchases I made at the Gem Faire was some Glass Rondelle beads.  They captivated me with the glint and sparkle from their faceted edges.  Was I drawn to them as a result of all the talk of found sea glass?

Three-Charmed-Gems

I decided to use these to make Just Beachy Glass Rondelle Bracelets.  Pairing the beads with a spiral charm, anyone can now wear a memory of the beach on their wrist.  Isn’t that just beachy?

Recently I was told about a sea glass hunt walk that can be done at the Palisade Interstate Park close to where we live.  Bet you can’t guess where we will be taking the Things one of these weekends…
