We are home from vacation.  It’s so nice to sleep in my own bed again, and snuggle with my four-legged furry friend.  But it’s also time to get back to reality.  Sigh.

Four suitcases of laundry await me in all their glory.  Plus the heaps of mail.  And groceries.  Do we really need to eat too?

The July 2014 gem faire was a blast.  It was intoxicating.  It was exhilarating.  It was heart fluttering in my chest fun!

Table after table of treasures.

Everything was so colourful and glittery.  It was a cacophany of texture, size, shape, colour, sparkle, and luminescence.

So many things to look at and choose from, different vendors with different selections.  Glass beads, gemstones, findings, pearls, displays, you name it.  Some of my favourite vendors were there this time, some of them not.  I was hoping to pick up some bezel-edged gemstone connectors, but my preferred vendor wasn’t there.  Oh well, c’est la vie!

While looking at the tables I found myself daydreaming about the beach and thinking about sea glass.  This prompted me to step outside my normal purchasing criteria and fondle the glass rondelle beads.  Soft hues of blue and teal along with an opaque white and pink caught my eye.

Some of the other great finds that I brought home include Citrine smooth nuggets, Moss Agate, Sodalite, Apatite, Amazonite, and Botswana Agate just to name a few.  But the one purchase that has had my head spinning with the desire to get to my workbench is the Artistic Jasper 5 x 8 mm rondelles.  Swoon.

Forget the jet-lag – I had trouble falling asleep when we returned because I just couldn’t stop thinking about these beauties!
