Just like you, I like food. I can spend unlimited time looking at cookbooks, and now with Pinterest – I get lost!  What I don’t like is meal planning.

Meal planning for the Things can get difficult when you want to break away from Chicken Nuggets or Pizza and have something more, I don’t know, human?  Last night is a perfect example of this.  The kids were served noodles and sauce, while DH and I had take out Chinese.

I’ve tried online planners, paper meal calendars.  There is a certain amount of stick-to-it-ness that I seem to not be able to maintain.  Maybe I have authority issues, because there are some days I just don’t want to be told what to do.  Even if I was the one who wrote the menu.  Then there are the days that what I felt like eating yesterday is so not what I want to eat today.

The Things rarely agree on what to eat either.  I’m not holding my breath that they’re going to change on that one.

Over the years I have accumulated a lot of recipes that have been filed under “Someday Maybe”. So we’re going to mix it up. It’s decided.  Now is the time.  I’m going to venture into the basement, dust off that box of recipes and start giving them a whirl.  It would be really nice to place one meal on the table that everyone can agree on.  It that too much to ask?

Once a week we will introduce a new recipe to the Things.  Any tried and tested recipes you have are appreciated too!  Will the Things eat it? We’ll find out if they give the recipe a thumbs up or thumbs down.
