Thing 3 is fully potty trained, but to this day is still distracted when he uses the bathroom. Often missing the toilet which makes for a really messy floor after – yuck!
Usually we use the Shark Steam Mop to clean the floor but once in a while there is something satisfying about a really thorough old-fashioned on your knees scrubbing of the floor. Even better is that DH is the one doing the scrubbing!
We decided to avoid unnecessary chemicals and make our own Homemade Floor Cleaner using ingredients we have around the house. And since we have the Young Living Essential Oils in the house, DH got to choose the scent he wished to smell while doing the dirty work. He chose Lemon.
It’s surprisingly really easy to make your own Homemade Floor Cleaner.
The Homemade Floor Cleaner recipe is below
1 cup White Vinegar
1 TB Castille Soap (we used unscented) [amazon asin=B00DAI76TC&template=add to cart]
15 drops Essential Oil
1/4 cup Baking Soda
Mix the above ingredients in a bucket of warm water
This Homemade Floor Cleaner recipe is good for most floor types, but I would not use this on Hardwood Flooring. The best part of this whole thing is that the bathroom no longer smells like a urinal – It’s lemony fresh!
