With the new year upon us, it’s a perfect time to sit back and reflect on what we want to create for the upcoming year.  We are all familiar with making New Year’s Resolutions so why not invest some time in a 2016 vision board?

2016 Starburst - Three Charmed Gems

Last June I travelled to Dallas to visit my brother and his family.  While I was sitting in the dining room, my eyes kept resting on my sister-in-law Christina’s vision board.  A cacophony of hearts,

words, pictures and symbols.

As I sat there, taking in the beauty of the board, my eyes kept coming back to a few words and phrases.

Best life

Breath

Time for fun

Let your story unfold
All of them beautiful statements.  All of them things that we should attempt to do.

I’ve had a collage-style photo frame on the wall in my office for a couple years and have not yet put any pictures in it.  Wouldn’t a vision board look nice in there?

So, what is a vision board?

A vision board is a collection of words, images, and items that bring about feelings that are positive to you.  They represent the way you want to feel.  It can represent goals, objectives, sentiments.  Anything that makes you feel good!  Anything you want to bring into your life or achieve.  There really is no specific formula.

How do you make a vision board?

There is no one set rule for how you make a vision board.  You collect pictures, cards, tickets, magazine pages, letters, anything that you connect with positively works.  These items are then arranged on a board, bulletin board, picture frame, or somewhere you can see it.

Here is a basic overview of what I’m focusing on for 2016

Balance

Joy

Abundance

Sparkle

I chose to make a 2016 vision board on Pinterest too.  You can check out my board here.

As for the one in my office, it’s still in the works, but at least it’s progress!

The nice thing about vision boards is that you can make it what you want.  You can add to it, remove from it, or adjust your layout, any time you want.  It’s flexible, personal, pretty and functional!

If you’re inspired by this to make a vision board, I’d love to hear about it and would love to see pictures if you’re willing to share!
